“Success is…knowing your purpose in life, growing to reach your maximum potential, and sowing seeds that benefit others.”
― John C. Maxwell

This quote has been very dear to Raj for many years now.  Instead of just saying that we need more people that do the good in the world, he always believed that in order to become the inspiration, we need to reflect and change to make any type of difference in this world. Throughout many years, Raj Jhaveri has supported a number of nonprofit organizations around the world, as well as several in its immediate community.

He’s been an active advocate for those who are homeless and are truly struggling to survive. Raj was first inspired when he moved to New York City in 2010 and had dinner with an elderly Asian woman that was panhandling inside Port Authority’s subway. He was so moved and worked up by her story, that he wrote about it. You can read the full story here.

Ever since then, he has randomly been taking homeless people out to lunches and dinners, and alongside with some of his closest friends, he has physically been giving back to the community every year either in a form of lunches or warm clothes, inspiring more and more people to join him.

Besides being an active member of New York Cares, he has been hosting an annual charity formal since 2008 called The Aquarius Charity Affair which has raised over $50,000 of funds for charities such as Childhood Leukemia Foundation, Clean Water Projects in Africa, Be Proud Foundation, All India Democratic Women’s Association for Rape Victims, South Asian Marrow Association of Recruiters, Action Against Hunger for Typhoon Haiyan victims in the Philippines, American Diabetes Association, Baal Dan, Visions Global Empowerment and Give2Heal Foundation.

Raj founded The Jhaveri Foundation, a private non-profit family foundation, where it actively funds initiatives in education, healthcare, and basic life necessities for underprivileged communities around the world.
